This is the fifth installment in the Metal Hero series.[1][2] It is said that the name "Spielban" comes from the movie director Steven Spielberg. The early titles for the show were "Metal Man" and "The Great Space-Time Warrior Starlon."[3] As with the previous works, the basic format follows that of the "Space Sheriff Series," with its gilded suit, the protagonist's mechanics, and the explanatory narration when the protagonist transforms, and it was intended to be the culmination of the series.
